ECE 313

PROBABILITY WITH ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS

ECE 313 is an undergraduate course on probability theory and statistics with applications to engineering problems primarily chosen from the areas of communications, control, signal processing, and computer engineering.

ECE 313 is semi-required in the BSEE and BSCompE curricula --- students entering in Fall 2006 or thereafter must complete one of

ECE 313 and Stat 410 "Statistics and Probability II".

Note that Stat 400 "Statistics and Probability I", the prerequisite for Stat 410, must be taken as a free elective.

Credit : 3 hours

Prerequisites : ECE 210

Catalog description : Introduction to probability theory with applications to engineering problems such as the reliability of circuits and systems and to statistical methods for hypothesis testing, decision making under uncertainty, and parameter estimation.
