Sept 29: The instructor's office hours for today will be from 1pm-2.30pm in 114 CSL. There will be an additional office hour from 12.00pm - 1.00pm on Wednesday, Oct 1st, in 114 CSL. The TA will hold a review session from 6-7pm on Tuesday, Sept 30th in 235 EL.
Sept 27: Part II of the lecture notes on Root Locus are posted in the Documents section.
Sept 26: Information about Exam 1 can be found here: Exam 1 Info. Previous exams can be found here: [Spring 08][Spring 06]. In the Spring 08 exam, you should be able to do questions 1, 2 and 5. In the Spring 06 exam, you should be able to do questions 1 and 3.
Sept 26: HW5 and Solutions to HW4 are now posted in the Homeworks section. The due date for HW5 is Monday, October 6th at the start of class. This change in due date is to accommodate the midterm next week.

Sept 12: Homework 3 is now posted in the Homeworks section, and has a due date of Friday, September 19th. The solutions to Homework 2 are also posted there.
Sept 10: The set of lecture nodes entitled "Effects of Zeros and Poles on Step Response" is now posted in the Documents section.
Sept 9: The set of lecture nodes entitled "Performance of Second Order Step Responses" is now posted in the Documents section.
Sept 7: The next set of lecture nodes ("Step Responses of Linear Systems") are now posted in the Documents section. Also, the value of the resistor in Question 1 of Homework 2 should be 3 Ohms, rather than 2 Ohms (this correction has been made in the homework posted in the Homeworks section.
Sept 5: Homework 2 and the Solutions to HW1 are now posted in the Homeworks section.
Sept 3: The next set of lecture notes for this week is now available in the Documents section ("Block Diagrams" and "Models of Physical Systems").
Sept 1: The first set of lecture notes for this week is now available in the Documents section (Linear Systems). Due to Labor Day, the instructor will hold office hours on Tuesday, Sept 2nd, from 10am-11:30am in 154 Coordinated Science Laboratory (only for this week).
Aug 29: Homework 1 is now posted in the Homeworks section, and has a due date of September 5th at the beginning of class.
Aug 26: Welcome to ECE 486! The instructor's office hours are scheduled for Mondays, 1:00pm-2:30pm in 154 Coordinated Science Laboratory. The first three sets of lecture notes are also now available in the Documents section. The first midterm is scheduled for Oct 1, 2008, and the second midterm is scheduled for Nov 3, 2008.
Aug 17: The enrollment in this class is currently closed, because the maximal number of students that can fit in the lab sections are already registered. However, usually a few students will drop the course within the first 1-2 weeks of classes and spots will become available. If you were unable to register, just come to the first few lectures and hopefully the issue will get resolved.
