December 19, 2004: CONGRATULATIONS on a great semester, and good luck to our graduating seniors! The final reports for each individual group have been posted on the Team Reports page.  The second progress report is due to the FEC officials on February 1, 2005, and will be developed over the semester break.  Over the next few weeks, be sure to read through the final reports of each group, since we will be focused on system integration next semester and will be doing so without our members who have graduated.

December 2, 2004: Team presentations and demonstrations will be occurring over the next week. To check your assigned date, please see the Project Calendar. Final Reports for each team are due on Friday, December 10th.  Reference Jonathan’s email for information regarding these end-of-semester activities.  Also, check out the new FEC Illinois logo at the top left corner of this page.

November 15, 2004: With Thanksgiving Break fast approaching, please keep in mind that we will begin our team presentations on Friday, December 3rd and our team demonstrations on Thursday, December 9th.  Please refer to the Project Calendar or Project Timeline if you have any questions.

November 10, 2004: Several of the Design Review documents have been posted in the Team Reports section.  If you have not yet submitted your Design Review to Kris or Ed, please do so ASAP.

October 29, 2004: A new document has been added to the Course Documents at left: a paper entitled Electrical Machinery for Variable-Frequency Drives. Jonathan recommends that we all read through it.  Also, the first FEC progress report was submitted to the competition officials yesterday.  Please read through it to help gain an overview of the progress of each individual group. The report can be accessed in the Team Reports section. If you haven’t already, please also read the post below regarding the FEC Cost Worksheet.

October 19, 2004: Please see the added link on the left panel of this page, titled FEC Cost Worksheet. We will discuss the document in class.

October 14, 2004: Work has begun on the Progress Report to be sent to the FEC on November 1st.  Also, please check out the FEC website, since there is new information about the project available.  Please note: speed regulation and command must be linear 0-10V analog, referenced to the unit case based on 2V/1000 rpm. Speed regulation is ±5% (no load to full load) or ±50 rpm, whichever is greater. No testing will be performed below 150 RPM.  The presentations with relevance to the FEC project from the conference included:

· October 7, 2004: NEW links have been added to the left bar of the webpage. These links will help you in looking for potential parts online. For part ordering, feel free to send Kris or Ed the website of your requested part and just let us know the quantity you need.  PLEASE be sure to look at minimum order quantities and whether your items are in stock, since these concerns could delay or prevent your part from being ordered.
