XSA-100 Software

The software that the XSA-100 is needed to program the board is the Xilinx WebPACK. That will contain tools for programming their Spartan-II FPGAs. You can obtain the most resent version of the WebPACK on the Xilinx Webpage.

XESS Corp. also develops XSTOOLS which is additional utilities for getting your XSA Board and PC to interface. XESS sells the XSTOOLS CD for $1. You can order it online, here. The cd contains...
  • Software Utilities
    • GXSTEST/XSTEST
    • GXSETCLK/XSSETCLK
    • GXLOAD/GXLOAD
    • GXPORT/XSPORT
  • Xilinx WebPACK
  • ModelSIM XE (eval. version)
  • XESS Website Snapshot
For information on what the XStools CD contains, go here.

However both these utilities should be installed on each of the ECE 345 lab computers. You do not need to purchase and install them.

You can also download the GXSTOOLS package from XESS. Go here
