Notes for your TMS320C54x


Your biggest problem is probably getting to get Code Composer installed with the correct drivers.

But if you still have problems with the TM320C54 giving you no input, here are a few things that the ECE 320 Troubleshooting guide suggests you do.
  • Check the PMST register
    • Reset the DSP through the "Debug" menu.
    • Check the PMST is set to 0XFFE0 in the register window.
    • Reload your code.
    • Reset the DSP again.
    • Run your code.

  • Reset the DSP
    • Hit the "Reset" button on the DSP Board
    • Halt the DSP through the "Debug" menu.
    • Check the PMST register.
    • Reload your code.
    • Reset the DSP through the "Debug" menu.
    • Run your code.

  • Power down the DSP board
    • Close Code Composer.
    • Unplug the DSP Board, then plug it back in.
    • Restart Code Composer
    • Check the PMST register.
    • Reload your code
    • Reset the DSP through the "Debug" menu.
    • Run your code.
